Rachael Carmen

I had it going on—or so I thought. After surviving sixty-three months of pregnancy, countless sleepless nights, and 35,000+ diapers, this one-time control freak encountered God’s grace. And I’m here to encourage you to do the same!

I love encouraging and inspiring moms to grow deeper in their walk and relationship with our Heavenly Father. In my books How Many Times Do I Have to Tell You? and How to Have a HEART for Your Kids, I challenge mothers to surrender their will and draw closer to the Lord. I invite moms to join me in loving God passionately and worshiping Him fully while sweeping up Cheerios, doing laundry, and planning dinner. You will be affirmed in your role as a mother as I speak of my own struggles with perfectionism and impatience and share my challenges, failures, and victories amid the ever-changing seasons of life. My honesty will surprise you, and my humor will put you at ease.

I’ve been married to my beloved, Davis, since 1986; our life has been a roller-coaster ride, with God at the controls. We have seven kids and let me tell you our family loves to laugh! I enjoy playing in the dirt, eating dark chocolate, and walking on the beach. My husband and I own Apologia Educational Ministries, I’m an author and speaker – I am passionate about helping moms not only survive motherhood, but draw near to the Father and thrive in motherhood.

Dr. Cheryl LeJewell Jackson

A self-proclaimed dreamer, Cheryl loves adventure, believing that the greatest blessings often come when we open our hearts to being a little uncomfortable. When we allow ourselves to push just outside of our comfort zone, that is when incredible things begin to happen. When we operate outside of our own abilities, that is when the power of Christ shines through us.

After earning her doctorate in industrial and organizational psychology, Cheryl spent 15 years traveling the country designing talent management programs to help boost engagement, productivity, and efficiency within Fortune 50 companies. She now runs her own consulting and coaching practice geared toward helping female entrepreneurs relentlessly pursue their purpose through role clarity and alignment to purpose. Cheryl’s mission is to help women step up and into who they were made to be, walking obediently in the confidence of Christ. In pursuit of this mission, Cheryl has published two books. Strong. Brave. Powerful. is a women’s fiction novel highlighting the aftermath and recovery from domestic abuse. Her non-fiction book, Family Business: When business is family and family is business, takes a Christ-centered approach to applying her industrial and positive psychology background to family and entrepreneurship.

Sabrina Justison

Sabrina is a speaker, author, and part-time pastor, wife to Fred, and mom or step-mom to 7 grown kids, plus grandmother to 4 (and counting). She is one of the curriculum authors and developers at 7SistersHomeschool. She is also a COPER, a HELPER, and a LEARNER when it comes to mental illness.

God appears to have given her the gift of RESILIENCE. With a family impacted by profound mental illness, and an ongoing struggle of her own against depression and anxiety, she has learned that those who must overcome challenges to their mental health are uniquely qualified as ministers of the good news of Jesus. We can't FIX things, but we can cope. We can help. And we can learn.

Sabrina's desire is to help break the silence in the church about diseases of the mind that afflict an estimated 1 in 4 adults in the U.S., and to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness in the lives of people who trust Jesus as Lord and Savior. You can learn more at her new ministry website, sabrinajustison.com. Let's link arms to offer real help to those who need it, but are likely afraid to ask.

Catherine Segars

Catherine is an award-winning actress and playwright—turned stay-at-home-mom—turned author, speaker, blogger and motherhood apologist. With a B.A. in communications and an M.A. in performing arts, Catherine is a staff writer for Crosswalk and iBelieve where her articles reach tens of thousands of readers every month. She is matron of the Mere Mother website, an online space which analyzes critical issues dealing with motherhood, faith, and culture. And she authored Five Myths About Motherhood That Make You Feel Mere, and Why They’re Wrong,” a provocative ebook which examines how our culture marginalizes mothers. This homeschooling mama of five is dedicated to helping other mothers see their worth in a season when they often feel overwhelmed and irrelevant.

The great irony is that this mother never wanted to be a mom. She was so intent on pursuing the next big part and padding her resume that she almost missed the greatest role of all—MOTHERHOOD. Now she is passionate about sharing her journey of surrender, loss, persistence, and triumph—a journey that included a heartbreaking miscarriage at 44 and a miraculous birth weeks shy of 46. It is an unlikely story that will inspire you to overcome whatever obstacles you face to receive God’s promises for your life!

You can find Catherine’s blog, dramatic blogcast, and other writings at Mere Mother and connect with her on facebook

That’s a whole lotta kids! While caring for all of the humans and managing the home is her vocation, encouraging and uplifting others is her calling. She strives to empower women each and every day to be the best version of themselves through her writing, speaking, and volunteer work.

Having to overcome so much herself (trauma, abuse, passing of a child, genetic disorder, chronic illness and more), she is passionate about helping others rise above their own personal obstacles. With a deep love and understanding of the importance of living a real, unfiltered, unpolished, BETTER over perfect life, Erika believes that we must start incorporating a deliberate “Better over Perfect” mindset into daily practices. By regularly altering our level of understanding, perception and discipline in pursuit of healthy mental and personal conversations, we set our life’s tone as a reflection of community and revelation for others to witness.

With her experiences and background, along with her heart to give and serve, it is easy to understand why Erika loves to dedicate her time to helping others engage and be present in their daily lives by adapting the mentality that no matter what area of life we are working on, we can aspire, strive, achieve BETTER over perfect.

Excitement and hope can fade as disappointments find their way into relationships.”

Ashley Heilemann

Ashley Heilemann is a Christain, a wife, and a mother of three (and one more on the way). She has a B.A. in musical theater and is a stay at home mom by profession. Ashley also enjoys singing, dancing, crafting, sewing and, most recently, she and her husband Jeremiah have started to co-write a blog chronicling their experiences as parents of children on the autism spectrum (and one not) through the lens of their faith in Christ. The blog is entitled Faith and Family On The Spectrum and can be found at www.faithandfamilyonthespectrum.com .

During the last seven years Ashley has gotten married, moved across the United States twice, and had three children, two with special needs. These have been seven busy, and often trying, years! Through the experiences she has had Ashley has learned a lot about who she is in Christ as well as how to navigate her way through some of the craziness that can be this life.

Recently Ashley has been feeling God pushing her to branch out and try some new things. She looks forward to seeing how God is going to use what He has been teaching her to help and encourage others who may be going through similar experiences. This is Ashley’s first speaking engagement and she is excited to see how God will use this conference to empower the women of God and keep us GROUNDED in Him no matter what this life has in store for us.

Katherine Newsom

Katherine Newsom is a birth and postpartum doula, and more importantly, mother of two young boys. She recognizes that there is an information gap and fear-culture surrounding birth itself, which is antithetical to how birth is depicted in the Bible; this is part of what prompted her to study to become a doula, to learn of birth herself and to support other moms in their pregnancies and births. Thus, she longs to speak into this area of women's lives, to be grounded in their faith during the birth and postpartum period, whether it's difficult, traumatic, filled with hesitancy and fear, or colored by joy. She lives and serves in the Bay Area of Houston, Texas, with her family.

Katherine Newsom writes at Simple Natural Mama for the natural minded moms of faith who like to keep things simple. Topics include faith, motherhood, simplifying, and natural remedies, and more. She has written for Mama NaturalThe Joyful Life MagazineHer View From HomeMotherly, Spirit Filled Woman Magazine, and more. She is also a regular guest contributor for Christ-Centered Mama. You can find her at http://www.simplenaturalmama.com, or on Instagram at @katherinelnewsom, or working on her newest venture, Chosen, the podcast she hosts which explores birth and faith through the eyes of a doula.

Melanie Krahn

Melanie was just a teenager when the Lord called her to homeschool. An unlikely and unexpected calling to be a homeschool educator, she knew to keep this in her heart. Marrying her highschool sweetheart in 2002, Melanie and her husband embraced the call of God to homeschool their 2 children, who are now ages 8 and 6. They reside in Alberta, Canada near the beautiful Rocky Mountains.

Melanie is hungry to see the body of Christ raise the next generation to be passionate in pursuing the Lord and His plans for their lives while impacting the world around them. She believes this starts with the foundation of family and what happens in the home, which is why she’s committed to investing in parents, helping them raise and disciple their kids with practical tools so that their kids can experience and encounter God for themselves and develop an intimate and personal relationship with Him.

Melanie’s desire to serve families is evident as she’s lead youth ministry in her local church for 9 years and currently leads the kids ministry (going on 5 years). Melanie believes that walking with the Lord involves us all, which is why she provides Biblical tools and resources on her blog to support and equip parents in teaching their kids about Jesus and who they are through Him. You can find Melanie and her best-selling Bible Studies For Kids at WildlyAnchored.com.

Chanda Reese

Chanda Reese resides in Georgia with her husband Jimmy and their son, Asa. She loves serving alongside her husband who is the Children’s Church Pastor at Calvary Church of God in Douglasville, Georgia. She also teaches at church in various areas; Women’s Sunday School, Children’s Church, and Wednesday night services, where she enjoys encouraging and uplifting the congregation and sharing God’s word.

One of her favorite Bible verses reminds her to keep going regardless of what each day holds, “Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.” 1 Corinthians 15:58

This ministry started with an idea.

The idea that we could reach many with simply sharing about how the Lord has helped us with the battles and storms that we have had to weather in our lives. How we knew that as long as we stayed grounded and rooted in our faith (Colossians 1:23) that we would not be moved away from the hope of the gospel. The hope that is found solely in Jesus Christ. As we shared our struggles, our toughest moments, we came to understand just how grounded in Him that we truly were.

What do we mean by being grounded?

The fact that we have lost precious loved ones, yet felt the love and physical hug of our Father.

The fact that we have battled addictions, yet found our hope and redemption in His love and peace.

That fact that we have been homeless, yet are now housed within His love and forgiveness.

The fact that we have watched a child stumble, yet it gave us courage to share about His constant helping hand.

The fact that we have walked in sin for a (sometimes very long) season, yet He willing accepted us back into His arms, without condemnation.

The fact that we came close to death, yet He reached down and turned a tragedy into a testimony.

The fact that we battle with depression, yet He offers His truth, peace, and clarity without guilt.

The fact that we have felt unworthy and worthless, yet He continues to lavish us with His love and acceptance for who He made us to be, all for His glory.

The fact that we have stood in the presence of evil, yet we walked away unscathed because of His divine protection.

The fact that we have been so broken, yet He gently picked us up and restored us to His perfection.

Sweet friend, if any of the above sounds like something you have fought with or endured, know that because of the faith that we are so grounded in, THAT is how we are able to encourage you, that it can all be mended, repaired, fixed, righted, corrected, because of Jesus Christ.

Get Your All Access Pass for the GROUNDED: Faith Conference Refresh

I am a Christian wife and homeschooling mama of three. My goal with GROUNDED Ministry is to share about the hope that is found in Jesus Christ. I pray that others will be encouraged in their own faith and able to weather any storms that may come their way in life.

I know WHO holds tomorrow, so I can rest in the knowledge that I can lay ALL of my burdens at His feet. I don't have to hold it all together, He already holds everything in His hands.

I am an entrepreneur, writer, and all-around encourager and helper. I blog at Mama’s Coffee Shop and share about faith, homeschooling, and more. I also blog at The Round About Farm and share about our family’s journey from suburban living to rural living on our new homestead. When I'm not hanging out with my husband, educating my children or caring for various animals; I love to read, craft, bake, create in Photoshop, and enjoy coffee and sweet tea.

I have been through struggles in my life but I am so grateful for the Lord that sees fit to love me, in spite of me, and allow me to encourage other women that are just like me. I have an affinity for a good cup of coffee AND I love my Jesus. I am daily powered by grace and caffeine.

The goal of the GROUNDED Ministry, is to encourage you to rest in your faith, to become so deeply rooted and grounded in Him that you can weather any storm that comes your way in life.

Callie Domingues - Founder of GROUNDED Ministry
